Day 6: Ho Chi Minh
Dine on delicious breakfast and set out on our private bus for the Mekong Delta, one of Vietnam’s two main rice bowls. We will pass through lands comprised of low-lying rice paddies and rivers that are bordered by dense mangroves and palms. Boarding a longtail boat, we will pass through the Mekong Delta and Ben Tre to explore fishing villages and the four islands of Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, and Phoenix. We will cruise along Vam, Xep, a small canal with many little village houses dotted along its sides and glimpse the daily life of the local villagers and join them for lunch and a hands-on cooking class. During our ride, our guide will explain the agriculture of the region and how it is incorporated into the local Vietnamese cuisine. We will finish our boat tour with a visit to the bustling Cai Rang floating market, the largest floating market in Southeast Asia.
