With all of the shutdowns blue collar workers have experienced massive job losses, business losses, and personal economic trauma. Most of the 30% unemployment is blue collar people who can least afford it.

Meanwhile white collar people have mostly kept their jobs, often own home that have soared in value, often own stocks which have retained and in some cases grown in value.  And with less to spend on many have significantly  increases their savings.  It's a net significant economic improvement for many.

As a potential upside the guest also speculates that once Covid is gone that many white collars who have left cities for suburban and rural living will remain there by working remote.  And that those areas will eventually benefit with more blue collar jobs to serve their new white collar residents.  This also has a benefit of redistributing power from city centers to suburban and rural areas.
